Private Equity and M&A Community

Join us for our conference on
19 September

pemacom is the successor to the Cross-Border M&A and Private Equity Conference (MuMAC), the industry's leading conference for cross-border mergers and acquisitions and private equity investments.

Why does MuMAC go pemacom?

The Munich M&A Conference MuMAC started in 2010 as a conference room two-panel event attended by clients and friends of us organisers, followed by a visit to the Oktoberfest.

In essence, this has not changed since. – What has changed, however, are two basic aspects.

For one, the conference has experienced a decisive shift toward private equity.

And for two, we have realised that attending clients, contact and have evolved to be far more than an audience.

We altogether have at some point started becoming and being a community. Interactive, interested in and supportive of each other. It has become time to account for this evolution in the brand. MuMAC goes pemacom, the Private Equity and M&A Community.

Be part of it!

Sebastian Heilmann
Sebastian Heilmann is Chair Professor for Government and the Political Economy of China at the University of Trier near Luxembourg. From 2013 to 2018, Heilmann served as the Founding President and CEO of the Mercator Institute for China Studies (Merics) in Berlin. Merics evolved into Europe’s leading think tank on Chinese affairs under his leadership.
His research and advisory activities focus on China's economic, technology and financial market policies with their linkages to geopolitical and geo-economic dynamics. Heilmann has many years’ experience providing advice to European policy-makers and corporate leaders on China strategy.

Some of Heilmann’s most important research work came out of projects at Harvard and Oxford Universities. He co-edited the widely influential book Mao's Invisible Hand: The Political Foundations of Adaptive Governance in China (Harvard University Press, 2011; new edition 2020). His book Red Swan: How Unorthodox Policy-Making Facilitated China’s Rise (Hong Kong 2018; Beijing 2019) was published in both English and Chinese language. Red Swan deals with the distinctive interplay of long-term national development agendas and broad-based local experimentation that have provided an unforeseen agility to China’s economic and technological development.

We sincerely thank our event partners:
